The Sangean ATS-404 is clearly one of most attractive and capable radios ever offered in the under $100 price range. Coverage includes AM (520-1710 kHz), FM and 14 shortwave bands, or in continuous mode from 2.3-26.1 MHz. Tune via the UP-DOWN buttons, automatic scan tuning, keypad entry or from the 45 memories. The 45 memories are divided into 18 shortwave, 18 FM and 9 on the AM band. You can even fill your AM and FM memories using the APS-Auto Preset System. This function fills the memories automatically based on signal strength. You can also scan the memories, in which case the radio will pause on each memory for 7 seconds.

The large LCD shows frequency or 12/24 hour clock-timer information. The alarm can you wake you by radio or humane wake up buzzer. The humane wake buzzer will increase in volume every 15 seconds for one minute followed by 1 minute of silence and then repeats. There is also a 90-60-45-15 sleep timer and snooze function. Other features include: FM stereo to headphone jack, 9/10 kHz medium wave step, low-battery indicator, dial lock, dial lamp, dial lamp switch, stereo-mono switch, tune LED, flip-out tilt-stand and 6 VDC [ - ] jack. Light silver-gray matte finish. The radio comes with Owner's Guide, vinyl carry case and stereo ear buds. This radio requires four AA cells (not supplied) or optional ADP-808 AC adapter.
