The Kenwood TR-7730 is a compact, reasonably priced 25 watt 2 meter FM mobile transceiver. It has plenty of features including: 5 memories, memory scan and automatic band scan. Transmit power may be set for 5 or 25 watts. Frequency range is 143.9 - 148.995 MHz. 5.75 x 2 x 7.75 inches 3.3 lbs (147x51x198 mm 1.5kg). Requires 13.8 VDC at 5.5 amps. Shown above with option MC-46 DTMF hand mic.
The Kenwood TR-8400 is similar, but covers 440 MHz instead of 2 meters. The TR-8400 has 10 watts output and operates 440-449.975 MHz.
